I started off my teaching career as an English teacher. I taught high school English for two years in Central New York, and then 1 year in Southern Maryland. At that point, vowing never to teach again, I became an editor for the government for two years, before retiring from work to be a mom. (I have two daughters who are both grown up and are just terrific people. I also have two grandchildren, Jake and Cass.) After a number of years and some strange events, I returned to education-this time teaching life science, American history and civics, world history, and Earth Science in a Catholic school. After 13 years there, I moved up to high school, where I am now, teaching biology first, and now zoology. During my 17 years teaching science, I have participated in a number of workshops, fellowships, and courses to build my knowledge of the life sciences. I love my job, and I want to keep growing with it! I am now also interested in working with computers, and having my students do the same. I am developing some projects that will help them to expand their knowledge of science and technology. |
