Virginia Anderson

Dr. Virginia Johnson Anderson, Professor of Biology at Towson University, is

an active urban science educator and national assessment consultant. As the

director of the NSF's Urban Science Teaching project (l993-l996 and the

Reciprocal Science Success project (l997-2000), she has worked in Baltimore

City Public Schools elementary and secondary classrooms to establish

innovative science teaching models and effective collaborations between urban

inservice teachers and university preservice teachers. Dr. Anderson and Dr.

Barbara Walvoord, national Writing Across the Curriculum leader, are the

co-authors of Effective Grading: A Tool for Learning and Asessment. "Dr.Ginny" 

is currently teaching 120 campers a week; this her 15th summer as a K-2

science teacher!
