Various environmental samples were tested using a hydrocarbon medium to determine which location would yield the ideal source for bioremedial microorganisms.
These hydrocarbons included motor oil, para-dichlorobenzene, and mineral oil. All mediums included a nitrogen and phosphorus source to stimulate bacterial growth, to simulate an environmentally damaging oil spill
