A Field Trip to Mercer Lake

The group took a trip to examine the plankton community of Mercer Lake.

The left hand of center is a species if Asterionella, which
is a freshwater diatom, with the cells making up the spokes
of the wheel.

|To the far right of center is a grouping of Fragilaria, a type of freshwater diatom .||The triangular arrangement of algae cells in the center is Pediastrum.|
