Biodiversity for High School Biology Teachers

Hi, my name is Susan and I teach Biology and AP Biology at Wauconda High School in Illinois. During the summer, I usually participate in summer workshops for teachers in an attempt to improve my content and pedagogical skills. This summer I attended an excellent workshop sponsored by Cold Spring Harbor on human genomics. They just started the workshop this year (1999), so look for it in your area. You won't be disappointed. Another workshop that I attended was the Woodrow Wilson National Foundation Biology Institute at Princeton University. The topic this year was biodiversity. This web site, organized by the concept map below, will give you some insight on the activities and projects that we completed.  Hopefully, you may find some of them useful in your own classroom. To view any of the activities, go to the table below the concept map and make your selection. If you have any comments or suggestions for improvements, please email me at affinity4h2o@ameritech.net. Enjoy!
