2. Our new LPT FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) is up at:

. This is designed to provide an overview of LPT, and the CORE section
(http://www.woodrow.org/teachers/faq/#core
<http://www.woodrow.org/teachers/faq/#core> ) is specifically intended as a
guide for participants in our 1999 Biology and Environmental Science CORE
Institutes. We are continually updating the FAQ, and we welcome any comments
or additions from CORE veterans.
3. Awards and Honors
*Fe Ellen Dumapias, ESI97, and Linda Eyster, ESI98 faculty, both received
the 1998 Presidential Award for
Excellence in Science Teaching. Congratulations to them both!
*Betty Kantrowitz, MI85, was a recent recipient of the Tandy Prize for
Excellence in Mathematics Teaching.
*Pat Lisoskie, BI96, was selected as a participant in the Fulbright Memorial
Fund in November 1998 and spent three weeks in Japan for professional
development, visiting K-12 schools and a teachers' university. She also had
a home stay and studied Japanese culture.
