DATE BIOLOGY NOTES LESSON STUDY NOTES
07-27-03 Sunday Day off from actual lab work. Paul continued with Sequencher.
07-28-03 Monday

The sequences have now been run through Sequencher and have all been BLASTED! Now we move on to creating a tree using the Bbone program and others.

Evening lecture - Fred Friendly - Issues in Genethics - Great presentation! Wish I had these on tape or DVD to user in class. I will have to see if our media center can obtain them. I have never seen a better approach for "genethics" with kids.

Worked on the protocol for the Lesson and worked on the write-up...
07-29-03 Tuesday

Today we worked and worked and worked to get all of our components finished for Wednesday. We had to re-Blast some of the sequences reversed (and complemented) to see if that was why they were not coming up correctly.

I spent a lot of time creating a graph of our results - I now know a lot more about Excel...

The tree is now finished, so we can finish up tomorrow.

Continued to work on the script.
07-30-03 Wednesday

Today was a very busy day. We had the poster due, so we needed to finish all sections. We also had to observe one group teaching their lesson and one group presenting theirs since they would not be teaching.

Poster presentations were tonight. Paul presented ours and did a great job!

Finalized lesson plan.
07-31-03 Thursday
08-1-03 Friday
08-2-03 Saturday Time to go home! I will miss my Woodie friends!
