Project: Antimicrobial Action of Spices
Abstract: The possible antimicrobial action of garlic, ginger, pepper,
and salt will be
investigated by using E. coli and Harlem River environmental bacterial
cultures which will be transferred to separate petri plates. Paper
discs
treated with ethanol extracts of the spices will be placed onto each of
the innoculated petri dishes. Antimicrobial action will be indicated
by
zones of inhibition around the discs.
